4. Can there
be more than one member of the same profession in a club?
No. Each club has only one member who represents a particular type
of business. For example; there can only be one dentist, one florist,
one family law attorney, or one real estate agent. This requirement
is different for Organization Clubs.
5. Do I need
to own a computer?
Yes, and our members must be connected to the Internet with an active
e-mail address. The My Referral Club web site is
the foundation of your club and makes recruiting new members relatively
easy.
6. If I want
to join a club, what's my next move?
If you haven't already done so, we recommend that you continue this
tour. You'll be given a place to signup futher along the tour.
7. How do I
start a club in my community?
Contact
us and we will provide you with everything you will need. We have
a proven program for you to follow and will help you every step of
the way.
8. Are there
clubs in Canada, Mexico, or Europe?
Not yet but we would be happy to help you set one up. Understand however,
that we do not know the laws of any foreign countries. If a club is
set up outside the United States, the president of that club would
have to convince us that he/she understands how to do business in
that country.
9. What days
are the meetings held and how frequently do they occur?
Meetings are usually held once a week. Some Clubs choose to meet every other week. Each club picks the day for their meetings.
We suggest you arrive early to meet with your fellow club members
and potential new members.
10. What's best: evening or morning meetings?
Depending on the needs of the people joining, each local club will have different reasons for choosing the best time to meet. An advantage of early morning is that many restaurants and facilities have available meeting rooms, yet the draw back is getting there so early. It is best to poll the your members and see what's best for them.
11. How often do clubs meet?
That decision is made by each local club. Since My Referral Club does much of the work of the club online, many clubs choose every other week. However, meeting every week while the club is in its early formulation and growth is probably a good idea. Organization/church clubs may choose to meet once a month after it is up and going.
12. How many
referrals must I give each month?
Two, is the minimum number, but it's hard to do when clubs are small. That's why we emphasize growing the club quickly. The more you give, the more you get so always be on the lookout for someone who could use a member's service or product. This requirement
is different for Organization Clubs. By the way, My Referral Club shows each members statistics regarding number of referrals given and received so it's easy to see who is participating.
13. If I miss a meeting,
do I have to pay for the refreshments?
Each club is responsible for collecting money for meetings which includes
the refreshments and/or to rent meeting space. We recommend each club
collect for the meetings three months in advance so that all members
pay equally, even if they miss a meeting. Each club will have a different
monthly charge for its meetings based on its unique requirements.
14. Once I am
a member, am I confined to conduct business with only My
Referral Club members?
No, and this can be a touchy subject. We know that you will have previous
business alliances and friendships. Of course, you can do business
with anyone. However, we urge you to use your fellow club members
whenever possible. Remember, you are required to provide at least
two referrals per month.
15. What are
the key ingredients of a successful club?
A club must produces a lot of referrals: more than two per member
to be successful. Members will want to make a real effort to introduce
their friends and acquaintances to the club and invite them to join.
A growing club is a healthy club.
16. Do the meetings
have a speaker?
Depending on the size of the club one or two club members will have
the opportunity to speak at each meeting. The designated speaker has
10 minutes to present some aspect of their business. The speaker can
almost always count on an increase of their referrals after educating
the club about their products and/or services.
17. How does
the Exhibitor Table work?
At each meeting a different member, other than the speaker, will host
a display showing his or her goods and services. Think of it as having
a table at a home show or business show where you want people to stop
and learn about your business. This is an option for each Club.
18. What is
the optimum number of members for a club?
A thriving club will have 30 or more members. The more categories
represented, the easier it is to give referrals. The number of referrals
increases dramatically when a club reaches 20 plus members
19. What is the My
Referral Club corporate structure?
It operates as a Limited Liability Company (LLC). That designation
is used when referring to our corporate home office. Our local clubs
usually have a city or neighborhood included in their name. For example, My
Referral Club of Springfield.
